Friday: Long Plane Ride, Space Needle, Etc.
Well I’ll try to make this short, because I’ve been up for way too long and I desperately need sleep…
Got out of the house around 9, swung by Katie’s to pick her up, then it was off to Newark Int. We waited around at the gate (we had about 3 hours to kill) playing chess, 
looking for a wifi signal, reading, etc. The plane-ride was pretty un-eventful. The food, movie, and radio were all new experiences for me. Spirit (with the band, Spring 2005) had no meal, no movie, and no radio. We had these little personal pizzas which were… edible, and the movie was The Pink Panther which was good because I had never seen it before. The radio had something like 3 channels, none of which I was particularly interested in. I ended up sleeping for about an hour total on the plane, after trying and failing miserably to get anything done on the laptop. The landing went much smoother than what I’m used to (Spirit Air arriving in ORL, Spring ‘05), so that was good. We were actually early off the plane, I believe. We waited around in the parking deck for our shuttle… it ended up being a good half an hour or so before it came to take us to our hotel.
Once we got to the hotel, we unpacked and got accqainted, decided what we were doing, and it was off to dinner! Taking a reccomendation from the front desk, we went across town to Uptown China Restaurant, which ended up being decent in terms of quality, and gave generous portions (I think we all took stuff home to the rooms). On the way there, we did some sight-seeing of various things which you can look at on photos.mtwstudios.com, and I’ll refrain from going into detail here.
After dinner, we had decided to go to the Space Needle. This was fun - there’s quite a view from up there, and the city looks amazing at night (better than NYC at night, IMHO). We took about 20 minutes up on the observation deck, and about 30 in the gift shop, as per the usual. After a long, uphill walk home, we finally got back to the rooms and now I’m here.
Wow, this whole jet-lag thing is getting to me haha - it’s 2:40EDT and it sure feels like it. I’ll be getting to bed now - hopefully I’ll hear from some of you soon!
